On a recent trip to Kerhonkson, New York, I spent and entire day photographing various mushrooms - all from a mouse's eye view. Everythhing looks cuter from that angle. I was surprised at how many varieties I came across and how small they were.
Some were about 1/2" tall and the biggest was about 3" tall. I was praying that I would come across one with a small toad sitting under it. No luck.

Ewww, Conn, didn't anyone ever tell you that the ground is totally dirty? Unless by "getting a mouse-eye view" you mean "we were eating said mushrooms, seeing trails, and rolling around on the ground."
